Hi guys, Today I'm going to list out few Basic differences between 4G LTE and VoLTE. In recent days we people often listing to LTE and VoLTE words.
Then what it actually stands for and what are the advantages..?

  • LTE stands for "Long Term Evolution".
  • VoLTE stands for "Voice Over LTE".

VoLTE how to spell..?

4G is fourth generation mobile technology likely we call it as LTE. It is the first step forward to achieve true 4G Technology.we can get high data rate in both download link and up link.this will require few hundred milliseconds to connect to the network.

I think everyone aware of 2G, 3G and 4G Network technologies.
actually, the 2G network developed for voice calls only later Packet Switching adopted to 2G Network in the form of GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) to access mobile data.we can observe G near signal strength it indicates the slowest speed of internet data transfer.Later EDGE (Enhanced Data for GSM Evolution) replaced the GPRS technology.Typically EDGE provides a data rate of up to 1 Mbit/s.This Technology also somewhere lies between 2G and 3G. Those who call GPRS as 2.5G they refer EDGE as 2.75G

Basically 2G and 3G networks are Hybrid of Circuit Switching and Packet Switching data network technologies. 4G LTE is Packet Switching only.
Then what makes the difference between "Circuit-Switched Network " and "Packet-Switched Network".

Circuit-Switched Network : 

In Circuit switching if two people are communicating over a voice call, a line with the particular amount of Bandwidth allocated for that call.this will exist until the call ends.
In below pic, the red colour line indicates the circuit switched


Packet-Switched Network :

In Packet Switched network, Message is divided into a piece of packets and sends them individually.Packet switched network is not like Circuit Switched, a particular amount of bandwidth reserved to make a call.this raw data divided into packets and it will deliver to the End User.
"Packet Switched Network" less reliable than the "Circuit-Switched Network". Here is the reason
For example if your are communicating with others over voice calling using 4G LTE mobile If you say "Hi Hello" it likely divided into two packets not exactly just assume the first one "Hi" and other one "Hello". If there is any delay in second packet transmission the caller could receive only "Hi".after some time the End-user will receive "Hello" message i.e., second packet data.  
See the below diagram for better understanding.

After Reading all these one question should arise in your mind.Here we go

How Voice calls working in 4G LTE?

Originally LTE was completely IP Cellular System for carrying Data.if you are making a call from LTE Network, the Operators would be able to carry the voice either by reverting to 2G/3G technologies.

VoLTE :

VoLTE is a HD voice calling Service over 4G LTE rather than 2G/3G network present we are using.
By using VoLTE we can make calls more faster than 2G/3G Connections.It has added advantages of Security and Quality of services.

What are the Benefits to the user using VoLTE :

  • Increased the Functionality of VoIP

How to Find which device VoLTE Support?

first turn on mobile data on your smartphone,if VoLTE appears at the top of the signal strength the device is VoLTE support.Otherwise, it will show the alphabets like G, E or 2G,3G,4G.
The latest changes in Network technology improved the speed of the Packets transmission compare to olden days.Now we get a better quality of voice calls.

      Lenovo Vibe P1 supports VoLTE but Vibe P1m does not support VoLTE feature.Vibe P1 have Qualcom Snapdragon Chipset and P1m have MTK.VoLTE is purley Sotware limition.all major barnded mobile companies rolling out a software update to support VoLTE eature so keep checking u r ph sw update

      One of the rumors that are circulating about the Jio SIM is that it will lock your phone after you use it and you can’t use any other SIM on the device ?
      Answer is Nooooo.....
      Well, this rumor might scare many users, but it has to be known that it is untrue.Reliance Jio SIM is just like other SIMs.
      1.some users have complained that they couldn’t use other SIM cards on their phone after using Jio ?
      * They have started assuming that the issue is due to the Jio SIM card. But, the solution to this issue is very simple.
      Reason :
      Reliance Jio SIM is LTE based. The 4G SIM card will not work on 3G or 2G networks.. so you need to change network setting to use Jio 4G SIM.
      In case, you are planning to use another SIM from a different service provider that is a 3G or 2G capable one, All you need to do is change the network type on your phone. You need to go to Settings → Network Modes and change it from LTE to the desired mode.

      Simply we can say that There is no difference between LTE and VoLTE other than Voice calls.means both LTE and VoLTE supports voice calls but the adv with VoLTE is we can make voice calls over 4G LTE rather than 2G/3G network present we are using.I think your Samsung Tab does not support VoLTE but no problem,Jio sim will work.

      Wonderful Question...If you make a voice call from 4G LTE network the telecom operators carries that voice call through 3G or 2G.
      Imp : One of the Rumor circulating that RJio will deduct data balance for Voice Calls ?
      No..An official statment released by Reliance says that Jio will never charge for voice calls and they won't deduct our data balance.

    How to identify a phone which support only lte but not volte?
    I have gone throgh http://www.jio.com/en-in/devices but looking at specs of individual phone i get confused
    Also kindly guide me how to identify BOTH SIM IN a phone supports 4G (LTE). ofcource i will use one SIM (either airtel or jio ) at a time . When signal is poor for one sim(say airtel) I can shift to other sim(say, jio)

      Coolpad Note 3 Running Lollipop operating system and below versions doesn't support VoLTE feature.But it supports in Marshmallow 6.0
      wait for Marshmallow.soon it will get the OTA update

      Here's a solution to white-list the coupon code
      1. Note down both the IMEI of your phone (*#06).
      2. Note down the coupon code from the screenshot you took while generating the code.
      3. email both the details to [email protected] , explaining your issue.
      4. Jio team will verify the details and whitelist the coupon code.
      You can use the same coupon code to get a Jio SIM after you receive a reply from the Jio team.

      Settings > Storage > Default write Disk> select SD Card.now phone will restart.after tat you can move apps from Internal to External Storage.Use class 10 Memory card for Smartphones for more http://bit.ly/2ejySZz

      Yes it may work perfectly. RJio accusing other operators they are not providing sufficient iterconnection ports to jio.and one of the rumor also circulating that RJio extending welcome offer till March 2017 but reliance yet to confirm this.

      if u have only two options Lenovo Vibe K5 & Moto G4 Play go for Moto G4 Play but this is not recommend for Gaming Purpose.Moto G4 Play bulid quality is good compare to lenovo.Last week lenovo announced that there is no lenovo brand phones in future all comes in Moto Brand. https://www.facebook.com/TechnicalHackerzzzz/

      Why do you choose this model to buy ?Coolpad Mega 3 is powered by 1.25GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6737 processor and it comes with 2GB of RAM. and frankly saying the RAM management not good and the software has many bloat wares.performance is not up to mark.
